The only overseas Japanese Language Education Institution assigned by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science & Technology of Japan (Monbukagakusho)


Pusat Bahasa Teikyo is a Japanese language school by Teikyo University group established in Kuala Lumpur in 1997. The main reason of established is because at that time Prime Minister Mahathir wanted to establish a higher education institution for Malaysian students studying in Japan.

Pusat Bahasa Teikyo is the only Japanese language education institution outside Japan that has received a "University Preparatory Course" from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan.

Total years of compulsory education in Malaysia is 11 years, and this does not meet the 12-year requirement for Japanese university entrance exams.
Therefore, Malaysian students who want to go into university or professional schools in Japan can learn in our institute to fulfill the 12 years requirement, because we are teaching not only Japanese language but also mathematics, physics, chemistry, history, geography, etc. by using Japanese textbooks.

Type of Course in PUSAT BAHASA TEIKYO


There are two main types of courses.
  1. Preparatory course for studies in Japan
In this course, you will learn not only Japanese but also the contents specified by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan.
For Arts stream, mathematics, social sciences (geography, history, citizens) and English, for Science stream there are additional physics and chemistry study. All the course will be conduct in Japanese Language as well as the textbook is in Japanese Language.

There is a 12-month course and a 20-month course, and if you wish to enter university, a 20-month course is recommended.

  1. Japanese Language Course
Courses specialized in subjects of Japanese language and Japanese circumstances.
This course is not for who want to go university, but it is for students who want to study Japanese intensively.

After completion, some students study abroad at a language school or professional school in Japan or find job at a Japanese company in Malaysia.

20 years of experience teaching Japanese Language in Malaysia


The Malaysian government has dispatched students to Japan universities and colleges for over 20 years under the Look East policy, and about 100 graduates per year from PUSAT BAHASA TEIKYO are studies in Japan university and Professional School.

In this 20 years from 1998 to 2017, there are 1,057 students graduated from PUSAT BAHASA TEIKYO. Among, there are 880 students who further studied in Japanese universities.
